As part of a flying visit to the midlands on 19th August, Kirstin McEvoy (England Golf’s Head of Sustainability) squeezed in a visit to Hinckley GC.
The Greener Golf Network’s Site Visit for 2026 was to the remarkable club – Beedles Lake – created from a restored landfill site approximately 30 years ago.
Long term manager Jon Coleman, and Head Greenkeeper Sam Shuttlewood were our hosts for the morning, and they had a tremendous story to tell.
This visit will give you the opportunity to find out how the course was initially conceived by local course architect David Tucker, and its development from a sparse landscape to a maturing parkland layout.
